Public Forum Scheduled

November 2, 7:00 pm.

This was posted on the District’s website with no other details.  I assume there will be a presentation with a Q and A following, but nothing else.  I intend to be there so if two of my fellow Board members are going to be there as well (I think Stewart Chen said he planned to come) then it will probably have to be noticed as an official special meeting.

That's bizarre. Did the Alameda Healthcare District schedule an event without the knowledge of every board member? Which means there also was no approval of the event and it's agenda by the board during a meeting. Am I misunderstanding this?

  2. This is to be a public forum to discuss the SNF expansion. The intention to schedule such an event was clear and endorsed, at least implicitly, by the Board. The date and agenda for this forum is to be determined by Management. The fact that it might have a quorum of Board members in attendance is incidental, but will require notice if, indeed, there will be quorum. The information to be shared at this public forum will be carefully prepared to exclude the obvious, to me, fact that the analysis is overly optimistic.

And the fact that the AHD continues to strategize with tax-payer monies in directions that, oh, don't serve the majority of the population. We-the-residents are NOT investors! The only thing we can derive from our millions and millions (65+ and counting) is medical services that actually serve us. So who's brilliant idea was this to fund a hospital that isn't beholden to its investors?
